Watch where you’re going!

Five Short Chapters on Change   (Author Unknown)

Chapter One
I walk down a street and there’s a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. It takes forever to get out. It’s my fault.

Chapter Two
I walk down the same street. I fall in the hole again. It still takes a long time to get out. It’s not my fault.

Chapter Three
I walk down the same street. I fall in the hole again. It’s becoming a habit. It is my fault. I get out immediately.

Chapter Four
I walk down the same street and see the deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it.

Chapter Five
I walk down a different street.

Sometimes we aren’t paying attention to where we are going. We have our minds on something else. How can you avoid the pitfalls and the potholes, if you’re not aware of the path you’re on? We struggle to get ourselves out of predicaments and spend far more time doing that then we would have spent enjoying planning for something we wanted. Or we could always blame others for putting obstacles in the way of our success. When we want to make changes, sometimes it’s a painful process and it takes a long time. We don’t know what we want, but we know it’s not this. We know what we want but we don’t know how to get there.

There may be issues in your life which justify why you don’t feel good. Or you may try to justify why you should feel differently. It doesn’t matter. You’re wandering around falling into holes. Just decide to feel better right now.

Taking the first step may be the most difficult one. Once we begin, we gain momentum and continue on until we succeed. If you’ve come to a crossroads or found yourself on a road less traveled, I can help you to step into change with grace and ease. You can skip over a few chapters and go from Chapter One to Chapter Five, once you make a choice.
